Teaching the Word of God has always been a huge part of what we do. With Bible Institutes in 13 locations around the world, our desire is to reach a new generation of world changers.
Whether you want to get away in the Adirondacks or head down to sunny Florida, Word of Life camps has options for you. Though the locations are different, our commitment to provide you with solid Biblical speakers, top-notch musical talent, and an amazing location to get away won't change.
Word of Life is an international organization with active ministry in over 60 countries and over 1,100 missionaries. Last year alone, over 160,000 people made professions of faith through the various ministries around the world. To God be the glory...great things He is doing!
With missionaries spread around the country, Local Church Ministries is focused on helping local churches accurately teach God's Word to their youth. We supply the Bible curriculum and then help train your leaders to teach the youth of your church the truths of God's Word.
Students in NY make decisions to commit their lives to sharing the Gospel
Missions Conferences in both NY and FL have come to a close. It was awesome to see the 440 total students who came forward to commit their lives to sharing the Gospel.
We want to make the resources from the conference available to everyone. You can find links to the audio and video of the sessions below, along with as many of the resources as we are able to give away. If you're a pastor or missions team member trying to find things that you can use for an upcoming missions conference, please feel free to hijack as many of these resources as you would like. If you could benefit from any of the other conference resources that we haven't provided, let us know in the comments, and we'll see if we can make it available for you.
In many browsers, you may have to right-click and 'Save As' to download some of the content.
We are thrilled to be able to share some recent news coming out of Serbia.
The Word of Life camp in this country has recently finished their first full week of the summer camp season.
All together, 50 young people were in attendance. 32 of these indicated that they wanted to accept Christ as their personal Savior. Many of these young people were hearing about Jesus for the first time in their lives.
Here is just one of the many lives that were changed during camp:
“My name is Kristina. I live in Serbia. This is the first time I have been to a Word of Life camp. I am 15 and can say that this camp made me a better person. … Before I came to camp, I didn’t believe in God. All of my friends smoke and drink, but I didn’t do that even before camp because I felt that it was wrong. Before camp, I couldn’t say that I believe in God or had any hope for the future. Now I know that Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross, rose again, and is with me always. I believe this now with all my heart. … The leaders of camp helped to bring light into my life and showed me that there is hope in this world. I appreciated how they treated us, even when we did not behave well. They were experts in the way that they spoke the Word of God to our hearts and souls. I am so thankful that God used them to change my life. My greatest regret is that the camp was so short, and I hope to see these dear people again.”
In an exciting day of soccer, around 100 players came out to participate in a recent tournament held in Thailand. Many family and friends of the players also came out to enjoy the time.
Of these players, about 40 of them did not know the Lord and were exposed to the Gospel, many for the first time.
Please pray for the followup efforts in the coming weeks. Pray that the Lord would use the leaders and the coaches to take this opportunity to influence these young people for Christ.
A short term missions health care team recently returned from an amazing time on the Amazon River in Brazil. During their eight days on the river, they were able to run clinics in twelve river communities. The twenty-one participants from the USA joined together with eight missionaries and two boat drivers to fill a boat and set the stage for an amazing time of ministry and health care.
The reaction of the woman in the video above when receiving a pair of glasses is just awesome. It's a great example of the effect that health care teams can have in locations where the people don't have access to quality care.
The team saw 646 general medicine patients, 344 optical patients, and 106 ultrasound patients for a total of 1,096 patients cared for. 1,281 prescriptions were given out, with an approximate retail value of $57,645.
In addition to the medical side of the trip, there were also many opportunities for ministry. The main reason for these trips is to use medicine to open doors for the Gospel, to reach people that may not otherwise listen. With this in mind, the team was able to partner with the local missionaries and minister to 469 children through VBS programs. These health care teams frequently open new doors for continual ministry for the full-time missionaries that stay behind after the team leaves.
The team was also able to witness a wedding, go on several gator hunts, experience new foods, sleep in hammocks, and shared in the grief of a funeral for a young boy.
