About Mariette

I was born and grew up in a typical Catholic family of 13 kids. At the age of 25, I came to the conclusion that life had no meaning and that my heart was desperately wicked. I seriously contemplated suicide. Shortly before an attempt, I made a "deal" with God. "I give You my life, if You exist, do something with the mess that my life has become." I gave myself a month to see God's response, but it was immediate and so real. I immediately sensed God's presence in my choices and in my desire to avoid sin, etc.

Two years later, I signed up to the Bible Institute, with the intention of becoming a missionary. After understanding the sacrifice of Christ for me, I saw no alternative than giving Him everything in return. During my time at the Bible Institute, I realized and understood the spiritual needs of Québec and the rest of the French-speaking world. I strongly felt I was to stay in Québec, since I already spoke the language...after completing my studies in Christian education, I joined the staff of the Bible Institute, which is the first, and still to this day the only Word of Life French Bible Institute. I often praise the Lord for the privilege of helping train and edify God's children in the French-speaking world.

Life Verse

Philippians 4:4-8 "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
