Ministry Description
Summary
English4Life is a residential English-immersion program for post-high school students. The school year is comprised of three, 8-week terms, during which students are immersed in the English language, but more importantly, in the Bible! The Dean of Women at English4Life is responsible for overseeing the discipleship of our girl students. There are many ministry opportunities for the Dean of Women, depending on the number of students and current ministry needs. These include but are not limited to: personal evangelism and discipleship, teaching a girl's Bible class, leading devotions/small group Bible studies, and countless other opportunities to invest in the students inside and outside of class. This role would be best for someone who can commit to serving for a year or longer.
Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about this role.
Strategy
Our main ministry goals are to reach Polish youth with the Gospel and to disciple and train them to serve in the local church as well as reach others with the Gospel of Christ. We try to create a unique community which strives together toward these goals. It takes a creative and talented group of staff and interns to make it all happen and we rejoice together as we see God working in peoples' lives. WOL Poland is truly a place where you can develop your talents and gain experience in Christian ministry as you serve alongside of our team.
Travel
Our staff will pick you up from WAW - Warsaw Chopin Airport in Warsaw, Poland which is located just over an hour away from our property. Teachers may choose to self-pay to cover flight costs or they may raise additional support to cover these costs.
Housing
Volunteers will stay in high-quality dormitory-style housing on the Word of Life Poland property with Wi-Fi and heating. We also have apartment-style housing with a private bathroom available on property for married couples or individuals who desire more privacy, depending on current room availability and ministry needs.
Transportation
WOL will provide transportation to/from the airport, to the grocery store, and to church. Only WOL full-time staff may operate WOL vehicles, but volunteers may get an International Driver’s Permit (https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html) and rent a vehicle in Poland if they would like. Poland’s public transportation system is very adequate, however, with buses and trams which are convenient to use for any personal travel needs as well.
Food
During the E4L term, meals are provided Monday supper-Friday lunch by our kitchen staff on property. Meal times are wonderful times to connect with students and other staff members! Between E4L terms, lunch is provided on Monday-Friday by our kitchen staff. You will also have access to a shared, community kitchen to prepare your own meals on weekends or during the weeks between terms.
Visa
In Poland it is not necessary to obtain a visa for visits to Poland that are less than 90 days. Only a valid US Passport is needed (Valid 3 months after the date of your return). Volunteers who plan to stay in Poland for longer than 90 days will need to apply for a Temporary Residency Permit after arrival in Poland.
