Location Information
Zambia s a landlocked country at the crossroads of Central, Southern and East Africa. The population is concentrated mainly around Lusaka in the south and the Copperbelt Province to the north, the core economic hubs of the country. Zambia contains abundant natural resources, including minerals, wildlife, forestry, freshwater, and arable land. Zambia nominally includes approximately 73 ethnic groups, although in practice there are fewer distinct groups. Most Zambians are English and Bantu-speaking. Zambia is officially a "Christian nation" under the 1996 constitution but recognizes and protects freedom of religion. Zambia is the only African nation to designate Christianity as a state religion.
