Ministry Description

In Taiwan, my primary ministry will be at SYME.

SYME stands for:

Shèngjing - Bible

Youyì - friendship

Mén xùn - discipleship

Yingwén - English

This is discipleship training center that teaches English to Taiwanese using the Bible as our main textbook. Here at SYME, I will be living alongside our students as an English teacher, discipling them and simply living life with them. During the week, we will teach them the Bible and help them practice their conversational English, but we will also have daily chapels, Bible clubs, and special ministry days throughout the year.

About Daniel

I was born in a Christian home with a family that loved God. I grew up learning about Jesus and the Bible at church as well as at home. Because of this, I heard the gospel a lot as a kid, learning how Jesus died on the cross, paying the price for my sins and rose again, conquering the sin that separated me from God. I trusted in Jesus as my savior when I was young, so I could spend eternity in Heaven with God, but I didn't understand that I could have a life-changing relationship with Him now. This became evident as I got older, as I lived for myself rather than God, where I ended up in a rough, dark place without Him, physically, mentally, and spiritually. After walking in sin and darkness for most of my teenage years, I eventually understood my true need for a savior. I eventually surrendered my life to God, and began living for Him. After I made this decision, I began to grow and change, and I then decided to go to the Word of Life Bible Institute where I would learn more about God and grow deeper in my relationship with Him. During my two years at the Bible Institute, I learned a lot about God's heart for mankind. I learned how God wants everyone to be saved and to know Him (1 Timothy 2:3-4), but people won't know Him, unless someone tells them about Him (Romans 10:14-15). It became increasingly evident over time that God was calling me to minister to other people. As I pursued where God might have me go, He gave me many open doors and showed me the many needs and opportunities for ministry in other countries. Now, I feel as though God has called me to the country of Taiwan, where I will be a missionary for the next two years.

Life Verse

Ephesians 3:20-21 - "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."
