About Peter
Jesus found me in 1992.As a young person I was overwhelmed with challenges and struggles of the world. With a full understanding of Jesus Christ having died for my sins and risen from the dead, I invited Christ into my heart.
Like any other aspiring and ambitious youth, I had no desire whatsoever to become a missionary but had it all planned to be the best automobile engineer in town. Unfortunately, two years into my college training, I could not raise the funds which stalled my dreams. Unknown to myself, this was part of Gods big plan. A friend introduced me to a youth camp in Diani Ukunda, Kenya, where I was impressed by how they faithfully handled the scriptures as they ministered to the youth. Seeing an opportunity to be discipled and grow in the Word, I requested if I could volunteer in their ministry team and I was graciously given a period of three months to be on staff as a volunteer. What was meant to be a three-month period ended up being eight years! My love for the word and work of God deepened more than the desire to continue with automobile engineering.
Then I made a terrible mistake: I took a short-term mission trip to Uganda. Seeing the need, desperation of the youth in Uganda, I started praying to God and asking Him to send forth laborers in Uganda and its environs. Unknown to myself, the Lord was looking at me as one of the best candidates. He then provided a scholarship for me to go and study at Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake N.Y in USA. Juddy and I got married December 27th, 2003 before being send back to Kenya in 2004 to assume the responsibilities of Associate directors, at Word of Life Mombasa. We have two children: Phillip, 5years old, and Phanice, 2years old.
Effective April 8th, 2011, the leadership team form our head office as entrusted us with more responsibilities. My new assignment is the Field Director of Kenya. The Odanga's family welcomes you to partner with us in reaching youth of Kenya and its environs by holding forth the word of life.
