Ministry Description
Since 2015 we are serving at Word of Life Taiwan, receiving training to be able to start Word of Life Thailand in the future using the SYME (school of youth ministries in English also known as "English for Life").
We arrived to Thailand on July 2018, we are going to spend a couple of years learning Thai lenguage and building relationships with Thai people. Please pray that God provides ways to stay permanently in the country and we can preach His name here for a long time among the youth!
Update: We had to left the field in 2020 bacause of the issues that Covid pandemic brought, In the meantime we are serving in WOL Mexico while we get ready to get back to Thailand when the immigration situation gets some stability again. Please pray for us to get open doors from God to go back and serve in our beloved ministry field in Thailand!
About Omar
I was born in a Catholic home in the city of Zacatecas, Mexico. I am the youngest of three brothers. My father was an alcoholic, and my mother worked hard to get us through. At the age of 6, we were invited to a Christian church, where my parents received Christ. I was surprised of the change in our lives from this and at the same time I began to realize my own sinful situation and my need for salvation. One night, I remembered a verse I learned in Bible class, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." It was at that moment that I put my trust in Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. In 1995, I attended for the first time to the Word of Life Camp in Mexico, where I dedicated my life to serve God. During the night of the campfire, I realized how wrong I was in my Christian life. I prayed (and still pray) for the privilege to share the gospel in the world's least evangelized countries. Years later, I met a young woman who shared the same desire to be a missionary and we got married. God led us to study at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina in 2006. As we attended school, we prayed for a country where we could serve. In the Missionary Conference in 2008, we received the challenge of serving as missionaries with the newly-formed team of Word of Life Thailand. We accepted the challenge with joy. We got to Thailand in 2018 and we are serving there as missionaries, in that wonderful place that is still a place "where Christ has not been named yet."
About Susana
During my childhood, I never questioned anything about God, but in my teens I had doubts. Yes, I was completely sure of my way of thinking about me going to heaven because I had never killed anyone! But as I read the Bible I realized that even my "little" sins separated me from the holy presence of God (Romans 6:23). I needed something or someone to save me from my fate, which was hell. In July 1993, while visiting a church with relatives in the United States , I realized that Jesus Christ came into the world with a purpose for me to pay for my sins (Romans 5:8 ), to give me eternal life (John 3:16) and the security of being in His presence forever (John 10:28). After that, I received Him as my personal Savior. I discovered the love, mercy and patience that God had for me. Those indescribable treasures led me to surrender my life to Him and spurred on a decision to serve Him for the rest of my life; because after all, I belonged to Him.
Life Verse
Romans 15:20-21 "And so I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man’s foundation, but as it is written: “To whom He was not announced, they shall see; And those who have not heard shall understand.”
