Our missionaries are normal people from all walks of life who have dedicated their lives to serving and following Jesus wherever He calls them. Want to meet them? Check out our Missionary Directory.
I will be working at SYME Japan which is a English and Bible school for young Japanese. We share the gospel and lead youth to Christ, help them to grow in faith and encourage them to live out the Word of God. The expectations of many unsaved students who come to SYME is to learn English, but they also hear the truth and have opportunity to make life change decision. They will be able to grow their relationship with the Lord through classes and discipleship. SYME also have students who are believers. We help them to grow in faith and encourage them to actively live out the Word of God. I am going to join marketing team as well as help office work to reach out more potential students in the future. I will also have the privilege of building relationship with students, help them to grow in Christ and disciple them.
I was born and raised in a typical Japanese family. I naturally worshipping Japanese gods and ancestors without noticing it's religious acts because it is a part of our Japanese culture and tradition. When I was junior, I got bullied by my classmates for over six months. It was the hardest time in my life and I started not trusting anyone or anything. There was no hope nor the reason of my life for me at that time. When I was 17, my mother got saved through her Christian co-worker. That was the first time for me to see Christian. She changes a lot and she started going to church every Sunday. One day, she introduced me to an English and bible school called SYME(School of Youth Ministry in English) and recommended me to go. It was cheaper than going abroad and good quality English classes than anywhere else, so I decided to attend. I was changed by God through the SYME program. He stirred my heart and put me desire to learn more and more about the Bible and Him. I heard the gospel through SYME ministry and from local church people, I also started a weekly bible study with one of the staff in SYME to understand the bible, the thick difficult book. I made my decision to follow Christ during my Fall term of SYME, it was a real Life Change experience. God gave me new life and I finally got the purpose of my life. I've never forgotten the moment God healed my heart and remove the fear of trust, gave me the courage to rely on Him. After I became a Christian, I went to two years of Bible Institute operated by Word of Life. I wanted to know more about God and build a strong foundation as a Christian. I learned about ministry and how to make God's name known to the world at the Bible Institute. After I graduated from the Bible Institute, God gave me a wonderful opportunity to serve in Japan, my home country with a Cross-Cultural Internship program. Japan is the second-largest unreached people group in the world. I desire to reach more people in Japan and share the hope that I discovered three years ago. I will serve at SYME Japan, where I came to know Jesus Christ. I want to encourage young Japanese to walk with Christ, help them understand who Jesus is and what He has done for us, I want them to experience life with the Lord so that they can rest and have peace in their heart as He has given me.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30
