Ministry Description

The mission of Palabra de Vida Paraguay is, "to serve today's ecclesiastical movements in the development of youth ministries that make disciples in all districts of Paraguay." In Matthew 28 is talks about making disciples that make disciples and this is what Word of Life is passionate about doing. The vision of Word of Life Paraguay is, "to be the mobilizing force of the national network of young people who advance the cause in the 254 districts of Paraguay." The vision is to be equippers to raise up young people who desire to serve the Lord and make his name known. While I am in Paraguay, I will be an equipper, a learner and an observer. I am working with Word of Life in Paraguay to accomplish what the Lord has burdened the heart of this ministry with. I will seek to be a part of the mission and accomplish the vision through serving in local church ministry, discipleship programs, camp ministry and more! If you want to know more about each of these ministries that I will get to be a part of, contact me and let's meet up! Whether we meet over zoom or grab coffee lets connect if we haven't already.

About Emily

I grew up in a home that loves the Lord and has been faithful to God and His work. From a young age I knew the Lord, but I did not always have a right understanding of how God saw me as his daughter. While I would have always said growing up that I believed that salvation was by faith not by works so that no one could boast (Ephesians 2:8-9), I lived out of a salvation by works mindset. I did good things to earn favor with God, which no person can do. In Isaiah, it says that all man's good deeds are like filthy rags, there is nothing that we can do to earn favor with God. As I grew up, I realized that achieving perfection was impossible and I learned more and more about the unconditional gracious love of God and how I really was in NEED of Jesus. I realized that if I was perfect, there would be no need for a savior. Some verses that really helped transform my thinking were Romans 8:1 and Ephesians 2:4-8 which talk about the grace of God and salvation. If you have more questions about who God is and want to know more contact me and let's chat!

As I pursued God even in my wrong understanding of who He was, I wanted to go overseas to tell others about Jesus Christ. Once I began to understand the graciousness of our Lord and Savior, I knew I needed to tell others who were trapped in the same wrong thinking as I had been. After I graduated from high school, I went to the Word of Life Bible Institute. At Word of Life, I learned more about the needs all around the world and I knew I needed to go. One of professors said, "go for two years and pray about a lifetime." When I was given the opportunity to go to Palabra de Vida Paraguay in April of 2023, I was excited to see the reality of overseas missions. While I was there, the Lord really burdened my heart to not just be a sender, but to be a goer and to learn Spanish. Now I get to return to Paraguay and share the good news of Jesus Christ with people who need to know!

Life Verse

Isaiah 6:8 "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
