Our missionaries are normal people from all walks of life who have dedicated their lives to serving and following Jesus wherever He calls them. Want to meet them? Check out our Missionary Directory.
I am a Launch missionary at the Diani beach Word of Life Campus. I am assisting the students, teachers and leaders in the Discipleship Training Center. I am also serving in the kitchen where we prepare meals for all the staff and students at the base. During December and January I will be a counselor for kids camps. At WOL kindergarten and primary schools I am teaching bible hour and ministering to the students.
I was born and raised in Montana in a christian home as the youngest of 5 siblings. I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was 5 in a Sunday school class. Growing up it was difficult to find a community that was really on fire for God. I was lukewarm in my faith and I treated it more as a badge than a personal relationship with my Savior and Creator that leads my life and gives me purpose.
God began to prepare me for missions work last year. In Fall of 2021, God directed me to invest 6 months of my life into a Discipleship Training School with an organization called Youth With A Mission or YWAM. This decision process was difficult because there was uncertainty over my future career and the general expectation that I would go to college. Going in, I didn't know a soul at the school and I knew it would be an adventure. This school helped me realize how important it is to have a personal relationship with God and how much He wants to speak to me. I learned so much about the character and nature of Jesus and realized how much I want Him to rule my life fully. During the last week of the school I decided to publicly declare my joy in following Jesus without limits with my baptism.
For my team's outreach we were in Kenya and what an incredible experience it was. I learned and grew in my relationship with God, with my team, my leaders, personally, and with the Body of Christ in Africa. God gave me a heart for street evangelism, serving with young adults, and especially young children and orphans. My heart broke for these boys and girls with torn clothes and worn out shoes who smiled and danced with us. They deserve to be cared for and loved just as any other child.
When I returned to the states I knew without a doubt that God was calling me back to Kenya and now I have the opportunity to serve at WOL.
I am so grateful to continue serving God here in the beautiful country of Kenya.
he says: “It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.” Isaiah 49:6
