Our missionaries are normal people from all walks of life who have dedicated their lives to serving and following Jesus wherever He calls them. Want to meet them? Check out our Missionary Directory.
While in Portugal I will be partnering with Word of Life for the next two years in the vision to build authentic relationships with the community in order to share the Gospel. Building authentic relationships with the purpose of evangelism will look like participating and serving in; summer camp, local churches, surf ministry, and simply seeking to connect with people within the community in everyday life.
All my life I knew God existed but I never understood what it meant to truly be saved and have a relationship with God. It was not until my first year at Word of Life Bible Institute did I finally understand the Gospel and decide to put my faith in Jesus alone. During that year I grew in the love and knowledge of who God is and who I am in Christ. During my second year at the Bible Institute I began learning about God's desire to reach the nations with the Gospel. The focus of second year was to expand our knowledge on how to reach people with the Gospel, where the greatest ministry needs are, and how to use our gifts and burdens to serve the Lord and fulfill the Great Commission to the fullest. I came to the conclusion that if God's intentions and heart desire all along was to reach everyone with the Gospel than it should be my hearts desire as well. With opportunities like being a camp counselor for Word of Life camp in Florida I have fallen in love with sharing the Gospel with people and letting them know just how loved they are by the creator of the universe. In pursuing God's command to go and make disciples of all nations, God has opened the door for me to be a missionary intern for Word of Life in the country of Portugal for the next two years!
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
