Our missionaries are normal people from all walks of life who have dedicated their lives to serving and following Jesus wherever He calls them. Want to meet them? Check out our Missionary Directory.
I grew up in a Christian home and was saved at the age of nine. From that time, until I found myself alone in a rented room in Alaska after a long day pouring concrete, I had not committed much of my life at all to pursuing God. I knew that I had been prepared by God for more than the life I was living. After spending two years at the Word of Life Bible Institute, working briefly at the Florida campus, and two years in the Cross-Cultural Internship program, God showed me in an amazing way that New Zealand was the path that He had for me. I am glad to be following after Him with this amazing opportunity.
God has given me the blessing of growing up in a Christian home, and although being a pastor's kid and a missionary kid has its challenges, I also realize what an unbelievable privilege it is. At the age of six, I trusted Jesus Christ as my Saviour. Since that day, the Lord has been working in my life, transforming me to be more like Christ. I have realized that my walk with the Lord is not about perfection, but about progression. He has changed my anger to peace and love; my despair to delight; my selfishness to service; and He has promised to keep working on me!
The path God has lead me on so far has included many different ministry opportunities; being involved in church, various leadership roles, attending Word of Life Bible Institute and going on short term mission trips. Looking back I can see how each opportunity was preparing me for a life of full-time mission. I am burdened for young people to realize the importance and necessity of being in the Word of God, to be involved in their local church and to understand their relationship with their Saviour.
