Our missionaries are normal people from all walks of life who have dedicated their lives to serving and following Jesus wherever He calls them. Want to meet them? Check out our Missionary Directory.
Thank you for taking a few minutes to read about our ministry. As a family we serve in the local churches through Word of Life Dominica Republic. The areas in which we focus the most are the local church Bible Clubs in the capital of the country and the teaching of the Bible in different churches.
Enrique serves in the Word of Life office in the legal department since he studied this profession. Diana serves as a nurse in the activities at camp the ministry regularly conducts.
It would be a blessing for us to have you as part of our team through your prayers and financial support.
I am Dominican by heart and roots. At the age of 15 God began to put the desire in my heart to attend a church so for 2 years I was a member of the Catholic Church. There I never heard the gospel nor never told me about the problem that I had with God because of my sin. So one Friday at the age of 17 my older sister invited me to a WOL Bible Club and from there everything changed. Months later at a church anniversary celebration I understood the true meaning of the gospel through the preaching of an Argentine missionary. It was that day where my eternity changed. In the church I was quickly discipled by another missionary and little by little I grew spiritually and began to serve of the local church.
Over time God was placing a weight on my heart to study the Bible. I did not know when or where but what I did know was that I was not satisfied with giving only a portion of my time to His work. That was in 2016 one year before I married to Diana. I made a commitment to study at a Biblical Institute at a Word of Life Rep Dominican camp. God opened doors for me and my wife to travel to Argentina three years later in 2019 to study at the WOL Bible Institute the Word of God for a year.
Today we are sure that God's purpose for our lives is to serve Him full time using the tools, knowledge, gifts and talents that He has given us.
I was not born into a Christian family but at the age of 3 my parents met Christ so I can say that I grew up in a Christian family. We attended church regularly, participated in Sunday school, loved to go to church every Sunday but even though I knew that I was lost without Christ, I did not dare to make a decision for Him.
I was terrified of dying knowing that I had not made a decision for God since I knew the consequences. The years passed and at the age of 12 my fear of dying without Christ increased more but I no longer wanted to go back to church. I started making excuses to my parents like homework, meetings, birthday parties, etc.
Despite my young age I began to feel a lot of attraction to parties, discos, dances and going out with friends from school. I was no longer interested in going to church but one day when I was 14 years old after returning from a walk on the beach with my friends I felt a lot of desire to go back to church. God was preparing my heart and in church the pastor spoke about the end times and what would happen to my life if I died without Christ.
So it was in that way that I accepted Christ as my personal Savior and began to experience what it is like to live for His glory. I no longer feared dying because I knew I had a place with God reserved for me after death. I clung to His Word and at 17 years of age I promised God I would give my gifts and talents for His work.
God opened doors, confirmed the place and time to fulfill that promise. In 2019 we traveled to Argentina to study at the WOL Biblical Institute.
"We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)
