Ministry Description

Our work at PV Portugal consists of serving in many areas according to the needs and ongoing ministries. Currently, we are helping coordinating the missionary internship program (PEM) for students in Bible institutes in Brazil who intern in Portugal. We also serve in Bible clubs with the goal of teaching and discipling the next generation. Then, involvement with the local community opens doors to sharing the Gospel of Christ. Meanwhile, I (Fábio) have collaborated in the maintenance work and projects of the property with the aim of taking care (principle of stewardship) of the space and improving it according to the demands and mission of the organization.

Another privilege we have as a family is to be involved with our local church where we serve the body of Christ and create relationships with Portuguese people in order to get to know their real needs. This allows us to serve the people of Portugal with excellence.

Fábio

Ever since I was a child, I've had many dreams and one of them was to serve people. My desire was to join the air force and become an airline pilot and join the Red Cross and help people in times of distress and catastrophe, but the pressure to live a life according to the world's standards and be financially successful weighed heavily on me. I decided to pursue a career in a multinational company, go to university and follow the path of "success". In 2004, I realized that none of it was fulfilling; the further I went, the emptier I felt. That's when I was reached by God’s immense grace and realized how sinful I was and how much I needed him. I made the decision to serve Him with my life in missions. I dropped everything I was doing to follow the path of faith. By the grace of God, that’s what I am now doing. I am still under construction but have a hunger to know Christ and make Him known. Today, my mission, together with my family, is to glorify God through serving through missionary work in the world, supporting the local church, contributing to the expansion of the Kingdom, and using our gifts and talents as a tool share Christ.

Roberta

I was born and raised in a Catholic home, but I didn't follow religion. My choices were based on my will, which led me down paths that took me further and further away from God. At the age of twenty, when I was in my second year of university, my life was transformed by Christ and this changed all my plans. I finished university, but I knew that my previous goals were not part of the Lord's plans for me. My involvement with the local church grew and I realized more and more that I had to dedicate my whole life to Christ. When at a mission’s school in 2006, I had the opportunity to serve in some countries such as Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. It was an incredible experience that made me certain of my calling and since then I have been living full time for God. In 2007 Fabio and I were married and together we served for six years with a missionary organization in southern Brazil. We then left to help plant Calvary Chapel church in the community where we served and stayed until 2016. When we realized we should dedicate time to studying the Word of God, we went to the Word of Life Bible Institute North in Brazil. After finishing, we took some time to serve our local church and pray about the next step. In order to acquire more tools for children's ministry and also to serve in the city's Municipal Hospital, I took the opportunity to take the CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES course from CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship. During this period, we were challenged to pray and consider serving at Palavra da Vida Portugal (PV). We then joined the team in 2020.

Life Verse

''Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.''Col. 3.16,17 KJV
