Ministry Description

Along with my wife Marta we have the wonderful opportunity to coordinate the Olympians ministry. We both share a great passion for children and want to see them building spiritual habits from an early age so that they can grow spiritually. We do this is by training leaders from the different churches on how to evangelize and disciple children. We also provide them with resources that they can use throughout the year. The best part is that we don’t leave them but connect with them every week to see what they are doing and how we can continue being of support to them.

About Farrelly

As I was growing up, I heard lots of people talking about God and who Jesus was. But nobody sat down with me to explain it clearly so I could understand. Until I was 13 years old, I attended a youth meeting and that’s when the person preaching explained the message of Salvation so clearly that I was able to understand it and receive Jesus as my personal Savior. My life changed completely that it motivated my mom and sister to attend church and receive Jesus as their personal Savior. Eventually my dad was able to do the same!

During my last year of high school (2010) I was praying and asking God what He wanted me to do with my life. I had plans to further my studies and get a nice job, but I was convinced that God wanted me to do something different. I just couldn’t figure out what it was until I was invited to a men’s conference, and I heard the guest speaker sharing about the possibilities of Belizeans going to Guatemala to study at the Word of Life C.C.M. (Ministry Training Center). That was the first time I heard about Word of Life.

After the conference the thought of going to study the Bible was greater and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. A month and a half later I graduated from high school and a week later I was on a bus heading to Word of Life Guatemala to study the Bible. After my two years of studies, I came back to Belize where I finished my career in Information Technology. During that time, I was serving in my local church and my passion was to see people give their lives to God. At that same time, I received an invitation to be a missionary with Word of Life Belize. I was so happy because it was something I had been praying for. I love what this ministry does and the passion it has for lost souls. I joined this ministry because we share the same goal which is to preach the Gospel to children, teens, young adults, and adults, and to help many people grow in their faith and walk a godly life.

In 2020 I got married to Marta who is the sweetest, loveliest, and most godly woman I ever met. She has impacted my life in many ways, and I have been able to learn a lot from her. And now, together, we serve in this wonderful ministry where we can work with children.

About Marta

I am from Guatemala. I had the opportunity to be born into a Christian family and for that reason I always attended church. During a Sunday School, my teacher took the time to explain to us that we needed a Saviour and at that moment at the age of 9 I received Jesus as my personal Saviour. As I was learning more about who God was and growing spiritually I started to gain interest in missions because at my church they would always share about missionaries in other countries.

After I was baptized I was involved as a Sunday School teacher at my church. I also started to attend the youth group and it was there that I got to know about Word of Life. They discipled me and I was able to continue growing in my faith. Later on God gave me the opportunity to serve as leader in the youth group and young adults group as well. One thing I loved was to serve as a volunteer at the Word of Life camps and every year I would do anything I could to attend. I felt God calling me to serve Him in full time ministry and it was in a Word of Life camp fire that I decided to consecrate my life to Him. I said “God, all that I have, all that I am and all that I hope to be I give it to you”.

Later on God allowed me to serve as a volunteer in Word of Life Guatemala for some years and in 2010 God gave me the opportunity to study His Word in the C.C.M. (Ministry Training Centre). During that time we had a mission trip to Belize where I was able to see the spiritual need that the children and girls had. That missions trip impacted my life so much that I started to love Belize and its people. I specifically prayed for Belize for around 4 years for an opportunity to go and serve in that country. I prayed for God’s guidance because I wanted to go to Belize. And in February 2015, God gave me the opportunity to move to Belize and join the Word of life Belize team as a full-time missionary. God also gave me the opportunity to get married in Belize with Farrelly Patt who is also a Word of life missionary and together we coordinate the Olympians ministry.
