Farrelly and Marta Patt
Farrelly is involved in evangelism, discipleship and preaching.
I was born in a non-Christian family, and yet as far back as I can remember, my grandmother always took me to church. My father did not like that she did this, and every week he would get very upset, but it didn’t hinder us from going.
When I was 10 years old my grandmother became very sick and in her final words to me she made me promise that I would not stop going to church. Because of this promise to her, I continued going to church even though I knew that this made father very upset and even though I knew I would be punished for it once I returned. Eventually my mother and sister started coming with me.
I made a personal decision to trust Christ as my savior when I was 13 years old. That same year my mother and sister made a decision as well. I was baptized along with my mother and sister when I was 15. We prayed that my father would come to know Jesus as his personal savior, and he finally surrendered to the Lord at a Good Friday event at our church! Today, my father is the one that motivates me to continue to serve God! The Lord has done amazing things in my family! We are a family of 9, and 6 of us are believers, please pray with me that the rest of my family comes to know Christ as their savior.
In 2010 I went to Word of Life Guatemala to study the Bible in their 2 year program called C.C.M (Ministry Training Center). I was extended the invitation to serve with Word of Life Belize as a full time missionary, and I accepted. I also have a passion for Information Technology and was able to graduate in 2014 with a degree in this field.
I felt led to join Word of Life Belize because of their vision to “reach youth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ”. But to be honest, we are not limited only to young people, we spread the Gospel to every person we come in contact with. I thank God for the wonderful work He is doing in me and for how He is allowing me to be a part of His work in my own country.
I am from Guatemala. The Lord gave me the privilege of being born in a Christian family, so I grew up always attending church and Sunday School. It was there that my teacher shared that I needed a Savior so that when I died, I would go to Heaven. I made the decision to receive Christ as my only and sufficient Savior at the age of 9. I was baptized when I was 13 and a year later I began to serve as a Sunday School teacher. At the age of 15 I began to attend the Bible Club in my church, it was there that I learned to have daily devotions. A young lady discipled me and was concerned about my spiritual life, character and family.
God gave me the opportunity to serve 2 years as a support staff for Word of Life Guatemala. During that time I dedicated my life to Christ, and He placed in me the desire to prepare myself and serve Him in full-time ministry. But God had His own timing.
In the 2010 God gave me the opportunity to study for 3 years at the Ministry Training Center (CCM) in Guatemala. It was a beautiful time learning from the Word of God next to my classmates, but above everything, to be able to put it in practice in my local church and in ministry.
The Lord gave me the privilege to be part of the team in Guatemala for 5 years, during which I learned to depend even more on God. Now God has given me the opportunity to serve in Belize since February of 2015. To God be the glory.
