Missionaries to Panama

Ministry Description

My primary responsibility is sharing the gospel whenever I have the opportunity. However, my main emphasis is discipleship. I have a passion to teach youth gain a better understanding and walk with the Lord on a daily basis.

During camp season I supervise the teen staff, which includes teaching them how to work but more importantly teaching them how to have a daily quiet time and seek God's direction for their lives.

I also help with the sports marathons, training for the drama "Born Again to a Living Hope" and the Children's Show. Another responsibility is to help with the short-term mission groups that come to minister with us; youth groups and work teams.

About Freddy

I was born in Peru and raised in a Catholic home. I was taught to follow the rules of the church and that would be what would get me to heaven. I lived for many years like that. But I was living in sin like a lot of people that did not know God. I left Peru to seek a future in Panama and was studying to be a physical education teacher and I also was a referee. One day, I went to a sports marathon that Word of Life Panama was having. There they preached the gospel but I didn't listen. But, I met one of the missionaries and they invited me to their home. I spent time with them and observed that they were different with the way they spoke, lived and I felt they cared about me like I was part of their family. But, at that moment we didn't talk about the gospel. Some days later, I spoke with him and told him that I would finally like to go to church with them. I heard the gospel again and after church my new missionary friend shared with me and I accepted Christ into my heart. The next week I went to camp and at one of the campfires I dedicated my life to the Lord to serve only Him. I was discipled by two of the Word of Life missionaries and the next year I went to study at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina for four years. I had a desire to serve the Lord in Panama because I accepted Christ in Panama and God confirmed that while I was in Argentina. I returned to Panama in 2007 and continued to serve God with Word of Life Panama.

About Claudia

I was born in Mexico to Ecuadorian parents, but grew up in Ecuador. Since my childhood my parents told me about the Word of God but it wasn’t until I was 16 years old that I accepted Christ as my Savior. God showed me the need to know more, and in 1999 I went to study at the Bible Institute in Argentina. In a Missionary Conference in 2000, God placed in me the conviction to serve as a full-time missionary. In April of 2002, I arrived to Mexico. For nine years I served in the Christian Missionary School. God used that time to prepare me for a new challenge presented in 2011 to influence the lives of the girls in the Bible Institute with the Word of God. I have enjoyed every moment of being a part of forming a new generation of servants for the Lord.

Life Verse

Only fear the Lord, and serve him in trust with all of your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you. 1 Samuel 12:24
