Our missionaries are normal people from all walks of life who have dedicated their lives to serving and following Jesus wherever He calls them. Want to meet them? Check out our Missionary Directory.
International Ministries Home Office Director.
Purpose: To assist the Executive VP of International Ministries by overseeing the International Ministries home office ministries and operations with the goal of effectively mobilizing, serving, and ministering to the worldwide international missionary team of Word of Life.
My wife and I both got saved at an early age but dedicated our lives to the Lord in our youth. God called us to serve Him and after getting married in 1989, we both decided to go and study the Word of God at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina, a ministry which had a great impact in our lives.
In 1991 my wife and I were studying God’s Word at the WOL B.I., when we decided to serve God full time as missionaries. Then, He called us to serve in Costa Rica, our home country. For fourteen years the Lord allowed us to enjoy serving in that Country, with a team which was such a great blessing to us, people whom God put together for the great task that in that time we were able to accomplish by His Grace.
In 2002 the Lord began to lay a burden in our hearts for the country of Nicaragua, and an increasing desire to go and serve Him in that place. After years of praying, we arrived at Managua on October 30th 2007, to start the Word of Life Nicaragua ministry. For the next 14 years the Lord allowed us to serve in that beautiful Country, and we are deeply thankful to God for this wonderful experience, starting and developing a new ministry and a missionary team. During those years God gave us a wonderful group of young Nicaraguans who now conform the WOL Nicaragua staff.
At the end of 2018 God showed us it was the right time to start a leadership transition to a new ministry director in Nicaragua, Alex Schoures. He was one of our first disciples when we came to the Country. Him and his wife Erika were growing in leadership and responsibility, and it was a natural development for them. This allowed us to serve more on a regional role, and WOL assigned us to oversee the WOL teams in Panama and Costa Rica as well.
However, in December of 2020, God had a huge surprise for us. He opened the door through our leaders in WOL in the U.S., to take the position of Home Office Director for the International Ministries Division in Tampa, Florida. After much prayer and seeking advice, we realized this was the next step God had prepared for us in our missionary career. So, on March 15, 2021, my wife and I moved to Florida to start this new adventure.
Praise the Lord for this wonderful opportunity and please pray for us as we continue to help build our part of the Body of Christ as we serve our international team.

I was born and raised in Costa Rica in a Christian home as the youngest of six siblings. I received Christ as my Savior when I was in elementary school. Being a little girl, I felt from the Lord that He was calling me to be a missionary, but this became something real in my life at the age of 18. After finishing my College and earning a degree as a Preschool Teacher, I got married and went with my husband to study at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina. Our oldest daughter Andrea was born in our last year at the BI and our youngest daughter Valeria was born in Costa Rica seventh years later, when we where serving as missionaries with Word of Life there. After being missionaries over 28 years on the field, today I’m focusing on serving the Lord helping and counseling missionaries and involved in missionary care in our new field, Hudson, Florida as part of the International Ministries team here.
