Our missionaries are normal people from all walks of life who have dedicated their lives to serving and following Jesus wherever He calls them. Want to meet them? Check out our Missionary Directory.
I will be heading to Caldas Novas in Goias Brazil. There they have a Word of Life property that hosts camps conferences and day camps throughout the year. They also are heavily involved with the local church and public schools in their area. When I arrive in August 2020 I will be starting my journey as a wife, accompanying my husband to local churches, promoting the Word of Life Bible Club material. This will also open up opportunities for me to create relationships with the teens and woman in the area. I am hoping to be able to start some discipleship relationships shortly after arriving and being able to use my home as a place to be hospitable to the surround community. I will also be involved with their camp and public school ministries. On a day to day basis I will be a support to my husband by managing household chores and our personal matters (cleaning, shopping, cooking), and will be available to assist him with anything he needs to do for his ministry (translation, brainstorming). My biggest passion is being able to invest in the woman and teenage girls in any area. To me this means life on life discipleship where we do not just meet once a week but doing activities together regularly to cultivate a real relationship. I hope to use those real relationship to help all types of people from all walks of life to grow in their relationship with the Lord.
I grew up in the Philippines as a missionary kid. My parents taught me at a young age what it meant to be saved. They made sure that I knew, there was nothing I could do to earn a spot in heaven but that if I believed in Jesus and what he did on the cross, then I would be saved. I made a decision at 5 years old to accept Christ. Growing up I did not get into much trouble and there was never one moment when my life radically changed. The Lord has always just been faithful to grow me at a steady pace. In 8th grade I rededicated my life to the Lord, this is when I got baptized and decided to start living for the Lord. I then went to the BI where the Lord reveals to me a lot of my pride. This was hard but good for me, because then the Lord could show me what his grace really was. At missions conference, during my 1st year at the BI the Lord showed me that the best way for me to give my life back to Him was to go towards full time missions. I got to go Mexico on a 10 day missions trip during spring break. This is where I decided CCI was a good fit for me. I then proceeded to prepare to head to Belem Brazil for my two year internship. During that whole process God showed me his faithfulness through my weakness and continued to direct my steps toward full time ministry. The Lord also directed me toward ministry with someone else. In Belem I met my finance Arthur Bruno. We both realized that God was leading us in the same direction and we would be able to ministry better together then apart. I am looking forward to what the Lord has in store for me and Arthur in the next couple of years.
Philippines 1:6 For I am sure of this, the He who began a good work in you, will bring it to completion in the day of Christ Jesus.
