Our missionaries are normal people from all walks of life who have dedicated their lives to serving and following Jesus wherever He calls them. Want to meet them? Check out our Missionary Directory.
Jader and Julie Arguello
As the ministry was in it's beginning stages in 2007 we were working in all areas of the ministry because there were only two married couples on staff. Now the team has grown and we have divided up into specific areas. We are serving in the area of evangelism. Our focus is on evangelistic camps, high school retreats, large scale evangelistic activities like soccer marathons and sports competitions. We also receive several evangelistic teams from the U.S. every year and we help organize those teams and serve alongside them in ministry to the Nicaraguans and local Nicaraguan churches. We also serve in the Word of Life Bible Club programs in the local churches through leadership training and discipleship.
I was raised in a Christian home and involved in church. I went to a camp in 2002 and during a campfire night God spoke to my heart and I responded to His calling by offering up my life to Him. After this I wanted to prepare myself more for His service and decided to study at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina. During my first few weeks of Bible institute someone asked me when I had received Christ. I realized that I had never truly understood salvation and accepted Christ into my heart that day. After finishing my studies at the Bible institute I returned to Nicaragua and began to serve in the Word of Life ministry there.
I accepted Christ when I was 17 in a Young Life Christian camp in Colorado. My life was drastically transformed after camp. In college I began to sense God's call on my life to missions. I took part in several trips to North Africa, Spain, and Mexico. Then in 2007 I went with a team from my church to Nicaragua. I returned to Nicaragua again that summer to work with some IMB missionaries and that was when I met Jader and learned about the Word of Life ministry beginning in Nicaragua. Over the next year God began to confirm that this was the place for me and in 2008 I was living and serving there. Then Jader and I were married in 2009. God has blessed us with three beautiful girls, Caroline, Isabella, and Juliana.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20
