Matthew 28:19-20 rings true for me, and having witnessed the beauty and significance of discipleship in one's life, I decided to carry it with me wherever the Lord will lead me to go.
I am truly grateful to God for bringing individuals into the ministry to be discipled. And because we want to be intentional in our mentoring, my team and I developed a pathway for each discipleship group member, that they would one day not only be a disciple but also a discipler. I am currently discipling 16 young ladies online on a weekly basis. Every day, I go alongside them as we share our quiet time and pray for one another. I also enjoy spending time with them one-on-one for accountability purposes, sharing our problems and accomplishments together. Praise God for the way He is working in these young women' lives. And certainly, I am praying for the ministry of discipleship to impact more souls for the advancement of God's Kingodm.
Additionally, the Lord blessed me with the chance to lead the Mapping Ministry. This is how we will determine the spiritual state of the students enrolled in the English for Life and English Cafe Ministries. Each term, which lasts eight weeks, I assign them to various counselors who will either share the gospel with them, assure their salvation in Christ, inquire about their personal and spiritual challenges, or invite them to join a discipleship group.
I grew up in a Christian home. I understood at a young age that Jesus died for my sins, was buried, and on the third day he rose again. I also recognized my need for a Savior, which is why, at the age of eight, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord. However, as I grew older, I asked God how many times because I wondered why I was still sinning.
When I was 15 years old, I attended a camp facilitated by Word of Life. There I understood that my salvation in Christ is secure, and nobody can snatch me away from His hand. And because of so much gratefulness, I prayed a bold prayer that I will follow the Lord wherever He leads me and do whatever God desires for me. Then I began serving the Lord in our local Church, and the Lord used Word of Life ministry for me to grow in my relationship with Him. As a result of this ministry, I was able to share the Gospel with students, which ultimately led me to desire to study at Word of Life Bible Institute Philippines. I began my studies at WOLBI in 2005 and graduated in 2009. While studying God's Word full-time and preparing to run a camp, evangelize, and disciple, I believed and was convinced that my life had been set apart for fulltime ministry. However, I returned to my hometown to pursue Bachelor of Secondary Education, during which time I witnessed the importance of evangelizing and mentoring students firsthand.
Then, in 2014, the Lord intervened. I applied to be a campus missionary for Elevate, a nationwide student movement committed to empowering students through values, excellence, and leadership. The Lord indeed prepared me for six years to experience on how to intentionally disciple students, engage with administrators, and connect with government officials in order to enter schools to evangelize and disciple students through Elevate's #Notalone program. It was incredibly rewarding to see students bring their families to church, disciple others, and witness lives transformed.
In February 2020, I traveled to WOL Asia 2 to assist in running a retreat for two international schools. When I saw the students, I immediately thought of the ministry's need for additional laborers. I earnestly prayed to God for more laborers. However, God does really act in mysterious ways. He did respond to my prayer, but it was through my life. I obeyed God's call and began serving Him in January 2021. I am now participating in camping ministry, and in discipleship program - a weekly mentoring program for young females via an online platform. Praise be to God for He is bringing more people to be ministered to through the WOL Asia 2 Ministry.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28.19-20
