Our missionaries are normal people from all walks of life who have dedicated their lives to serving and following Jesus wherever He calls them. Want to meet them? Check out our Missionary Directory.
While I am in South Korea my main responsibility will be to feed the staff and students and help with the camp at the Bible Institute here. I also take care of the shopping for food and other needs of the kitchen here. During the time I am not working, I will be able to spend time with the students getting to know them and being able to pour into their lives.
I grew up in a Christian home. But to me being a Christian was just something you claimed to be, it was a Sunday thing. Until my senior year of high school that is when I started to really ask what being a Christian is about. In the summer of 2013, I went to Word of Life Inn and conference center in the kitchen. I have always had a passion for working in the kitchen since my second year in high school and over that summer I dedicated my life to Christ and started to seek a relationship with him. Over the next few years, I had learned how to serve God through work in the kitchen, and in the summer of 2017, I heard of an opportunity to go serve in Japan working in the kitchen of SYME Japan. It was on my heart for a while and I had spent some time in prayer over it and I decided to pursue that opportunity. After starting to take steps I continued to see God provide the way. I even had the chance to go over and visit the school and meet the people. That first month I spent in Japan got me really excited to go back.
Philippians 1:27 "Only let your manner of life worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel" (ESV)
