Ministry Description
Regional Directors for Word of Life Africa and the Middle East. Our goal is to help the ministries of Word of Life in Africa and the Middle East to be spiritual healthy, emotionally healthy, and financially healthy. We do this through various leadership trainings, practical hands on help, and whatever else may be needed by our 200+ missionaries on the ground.
About John
My mom was putting me to bed on a Sunday night when I asked her how I could get to Heaven. She told me how I could be saved. That night, at age 4, I asked Jesus to be my Savior the best I knew how. At a campfire service in 1987, I dedicated my life to serving God. In 1992, I began working with Word of Life. God has allowed me to be involved with every age group: Director of the Ranch (6-12 yrs old), Director of Snow Camp (13-18 yrs. old), and Dean of Ministries at the Bible Institute (18 and up). In April of 2005, God asked us to be wiling to go anywhere for Him. We have obeyed, and as of June 10th, 2005, we were accepted with Word of Life to be missionaries to South Africa.
About Christy
As a 7 year old playing on our carport with my dad in West Virginia, I gave my HEART to Jesus Christ. However as a junior higher, I decided that religion was not for me, and I began to live the way I wanted. At 21, I realized that "my way of living" only offered despair and emptiness and at a campfire service on Word of Life Island in 1989, I gave my LIFE to Him. I attended the Word of Life Bible Institute that fall and graduated from Tennessee Temple University in 1992 with a Mission's Degree and again in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Bible. I began working with Word of Life in the winter of 1993. John and I were married in June of 1993 and have two biological children, CJ and Chae Marie, as well as a few "adopted by love" sons as well...Alex, Joshua, Tshepo and Thabo.
