Our missionaries are normal people from all walks of life who have dedicated their lives to serving and following Jesus wherever He calls them. Want to meet them? Check out our Missionary Directory.
My specific role in this internship is to serve those around me so that Jesus Christ is made known in my actions and words. Whether it is serving in the building as housekeeping, maintenance or kitchen, the purpose is to connect with the people of the local church and others through evangelism in everyday interactions. I will then be able to help others see the Love of Christ by building intentional relationships to pour into those around me. The goal is to see every life, including my own, reached and changed for eternity; through the power of God and His command of discipleship, to see people take their next step with Jesus.
I grew up thinking that acceptance came from the people around me, and somehow I could reach love through that. It wasn't until I came to the realization that the ultimate form of love was demonstrated on the cross for my sins, and that I could have a relationship with the God who died for me. Since then, I have been able to share the love of God with others so that they can have the joy of the Lord in His unconditional grace, mercy and love. The past two years I have been learning that God has called us to make disciples in His name, and to bear one another burdens. My desire for ministry is to help others see that God has given each of us the responsibility to see every life reached and changed for eternity. So that, every person is able to take their next step with Jesus by understanding that, through the Love of Christ, they are not alone. During my first year at the Word of Life Bible Institute, I realized that I needed to lay aside the my plans for my life and really listen to God. In the second year program of Word of Life I submitted my life to ministry, and God opened many doors for me to work with Word of Life. By choosing to become a missionary through CCI, I am able to earn my degree in Biblical Counseling so that I can be better prepared to disciple those around me in the country of Portugal.
