Ministry Description
Our main focus is Bible Club ministry, equipping the youth, reaching the lost, and training the next generation of leaders. Other aspects of out ministry include working with short-term missions groups to run Evangelistic events, coordinating the program of our Summer Camp, as well as assisting in all of the various ministries that Word of Life holds through out the year. God is blessing us with new opportunities to partner with local churches all the time!
About Justo
I grew up in Costa Rica, in a non-Christian family with divorced parents. I lived with my grandparents until the age of 18, when I moved to the Capital to live with my mother. Three months later my younger brother talked to me about Christ. One night there in my house I met the Lord; I remember that same night I decided to serve Him. A while later Word of Life came to my church with the Bible Club program and at a WOL camp I dedicated my life to the Lord. In ‘’97 God gave me the opportunity to go study at the WOL Bible Institute in Argentina. After that, I stayed on as a Youth Pastor for two years in a church in Buenos Aires. In 2000 I went to the Dominican Republic for the first time, to work at camp. That was when God burdened my heart for this country. After two years of praying for God’s direction and seeking counsel from my authorities, I arrived in the DR once more, this time as a WOL missionary.
About Anilsa
I am from Santiago, Dominican Republic. I am from a Catholic family, but at the age of 7 an aunt of mine that is a Christian told me about Christ and I accepted Him into my heart. A few years later in my home church I nailed down the decision that I had made earlier. After going through a trial in my life with a serious health problem, I could see God’s hand at work in my life and I made the decision to serve Him. My church worked with the Word of Life Bible Club program, and that is how I met Justo Olivas (my husband). We were married in 2006 and in 2008 we went together to the Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina. There I got to study the Word for a year, as had been my desire. After that year we returned to the DR where God had called both of us to serve Him.
