Our missionaries are normal people from all walks of life who have dedicated their lives to serving and following Jesus wherever He calls them. Want to meet them? Check out our Missionary Directory.
We serve as Missionary Directors for Word of Life (WOL) Bermuda ministry with one other full-time couple and three single staff & secretaries. Our Bermuda ministry serves six local churches and five public school clubs. We run annual teen camps and evangelistic events for children & teens. Mark also helps serve for WOL Ministries in the Caribbean/Central American Region. The Bible Club and Camping ministries are growing in Nassau, Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Dominican Republic, St. Maarten, Anguilla, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Curacao.
I was brought up in a Christian home and trusted Christ as my Savior at 12, during an evangelistic rally. My teen years were rocky and full of peer pressure and searches for significance, but, by my senior year in high school, the LORD brought me to the end of myself. At seventeen I gave the LORD my life and my heart, allowing him to control my days. In nine months I was at Word of Life Bible Institute, and then I followed that year with four more years studying God's Word. After college graduation in 1985, I started as youth pastor of my home church in Bermuda using WOL Club materials for discipleship. By 1990 I had met Pam and was considering helping other churches in Bermuda with the WOL program. God has continued to expand our WOL ministry with our staff growing through the first ten years. Discipling young people in local churches has grown our staff, ministry, and family over the years. I'm thrilled that God has produced a "good, acceptable, and pleasing" life for us. He is truly AMAZING!
I came to know Christ as my Savior while attending a Methodist church in my teens. I knew nothing of discipleship and growth. It wasn't until I met a colleague who attended Mark's College/Career youth ministry that I realized there was a difference Christ wanted to make in my life. I quickly understood this new life in Christ was what I needed, and I grew in the LORD at my new church. Mark was my youth pastor, but God eventually convinced him there was another role for me in his life. I attended Word of Life Bible Institute in 1990 and we were married in 1991.
Leanna and Malachi have been a great blessing in our lives, and their growth in Christ through the WOL discipleship program has been encouraging. We continue to work as a family to make our walk with God the reality that fills every part of our lives. Each of us spend time each day alone with the Lord. We are a very ordinary family with an EXTRAORDINARY God.
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever." Psalm 23:6
