I am serving as the International Admissions Counselor and Tech Coordinator at Word of Life Bible Institute, Jeju Island (WOLBI Jeju). I actively engage with new applicants while advertising and connecting with them, helping them through the admissions process. Then I work with them through all the steps to get them prepared and on campus for the 2022-2023 academic year! As Tech Coordinator, I help set up and maintain all our equipment on campus. I also train staff and students with our Marketing Coordinator as to how to best use them! My vision is to encourage these young people to take their next steps in training to become Christian leaders, serving a generation so desperately in need of Christ.
Beyond my job title, as a staff member, I get the incredible opportunity to walk alongside our students in their year of growth as a WOLBI student. I also get to serve in our monthly youth outreach events, camps, and Sunday ministries, all of which contribute to the incredible Bible community serving God’s great plan here on Jeju Island.
My name is Micah Rice. I was born in the United States and grew up in Pennsylvania with my family. I grew up a part of a Christian family, attending church weekly, going to AWANA, and attending a Christian school for a few years of my life. In some ways, my salvation story isn’t some incredible series of events or a miraculous story of saving. But in other ways, it’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and blessing to care for the sinful people of this world. It was by His grace that I was able to grow up in a loving, biblical environment which I can look back on and know how important it was for the foundation of my life. I was eight years old when everything I was being taught clicked together for real. I wasn’t oblivious to the invitation of salvation being offered to me anymore. I ended up finding a quiet place and personally asked Jesus into my heart, confessing I was a sinner and that I wanted him to guide my life. Afterward, my parents and I talked about it and prayed together.
In 2010 we moved to East Asia for missions. There we served both the local and international community, teaching the Bible, training Christian leaders, and sharing the Gospel with unbelievers. In 2020 I moved to Jeju Island South Korea on my own, enrolling as a student at WOLBI Jeju. From 2020-2021 I dove into the word of God as a student at WOLBI Jeju and gained an incredible foundation for my faith and for ministry. During that time, our class was able to run English youth outreach camps to the people of Jeju Island and greater South Korea, serve in local churches in various ministries, serve the international community on campus, and walk together daily in discipleship, accountability, and biblical counseling relationships. It was also during this time I felt like I understood how best to live my life for God and grew greatly in my faith. As a result of my year at WOLBI Jeju, God put it on my heart to stay another year serving as staff to give the same amazing opportunities that I had at WOLBI to new students.
Micah 6:8 "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"
