Our missionaries are normal people from all walks of life who have dedicated their lives to serving and following Jesus wherever He calls them. Want to meet them? Check out our Missionary Directory.
I am the Business manager at WOL Uganda.
I think I gave my life to Christ more than three times before I actually got to know the love of the saviour. First, as a requirement by my church before graduating from the confirmation classes, then on several other occasions when it was convenient ( for a school outing or a prefectoral assignment). However, as a teenager in my High school vacation, staying home became boring and I needed a place that I could hang out, away from home. My dad was strict. His children could only be at three places; school, home or church.
In February, the local church in Kabale was going through a lent period and my mum went there every morning to pray. I chose to go along with her for prayer sessions. One day, I responded to an alter call. I don't remember how I got to the front but I just started to cry. That was my turning point. About a year prior to this day, I had walked out of a scripture union conference at a point when I thought my heart had weakened. I remember thinking to myself, ‘this can't be! I can't walk up there to get saved, how!’ Eventually, I walked out of the room. This particular day I gave my live to Christ, I did not need reasoning to walk up to that altar.
Although I loved the Lord and aimed at working my way up to heaven, I didn't get to understand the way of the Lord until 2003 when I joined Word of Life. I learned about the basics of Quiet Time and studying God's word.
Today, my heart's desire is to see little children get to know the love of Christ at the earliest opportunity.
