Our missionaries are normal people from all walks of life who have dedicated their lives to serving and following Jesus wherever He calls them. Want to meet them? Check out our Missionary Directory.
I have the privilege of assisting Rick Brooks in coordinating Word of Life's Healthcare Teams. We work with local churches and support trip members them as they partner with Word of Life's missionaries around the world! In 2019, we have saw a total of 1,217 people trust Christ alone as their Savior as the result of 5 Healthcare Teams. Five trips is a great start, but my goal is to see Healthcare Teams to all 43 of Word of Life's ministry locations in the 3rd world. I desire to involve more American believers as a part of seeing even more precious people saved!
My passion is to see Americans grown and further involved in their local churches as they build up and encourage the believers around the world, encouraging the missionary staff, and seeing nationals reached with the Gospel of Christ.
Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing. - 1 Thessalonians 5:11
I spent the child/tween years of my life rebelling against God. I wanted to do things my way, and I wanted to manipulate God to get what I wanted! I wanted to live this life for me, rather than hand it over to Him, so I tried to make a deal with Him. “I’ll get saved if…” (Fill in the blank.) But our God does not bargain with salvation, instead it has to be in His way (free). One night, I could hold out no more, I broke down and got out of bed to pray with my parents. I knew I was a sinner, and I knew of Jesus’ sacrifice for me, so I accepted the free gift of God's grace!
God does not weigh your good against your bad to decide whether you can pass those pearly gates. It is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves, it is a gift of God, so that no man can boast. Once you accept God's free gift, you are going to heaven. When God forgives you, your sins are forgotten!
Matthew 28:19-20 commands me to go, tell the Gospel, and mentor those believers to be more like Christ. For me, the go has always stood out, because people won’t get saved unless someone will go, and nobody will go unless they are sent!
I want to spend “my” life telling the Gospel and pouring into other believers!
During my first and second years at Word of Life Bible Institute, God showed me that He wanted to use me greatly! During the annual Missions Conference my 2nd year at the Bible Institute, God showed me that I was to go out as a missionary! I got started by taking on a two-year Cross Cultural Internship with Word of Life in Guatemala, where I finished my college degree online. During the second year of my internship, the God began showing me how He wanted to use me with short-term trips. Now I am the Assistant Coordinator of Healthcare Teams with Word of Life International Ministries.
Matthew 28:19-20, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
