About Launch
Launch is a customized ministry of Word of Life which sends individuals and families to Word of Life mission fields around the world. Launch is designed to give you the opportunity to serve the Lord in an international setting. The length of service can range from a few weeks up to two years. Launch Missionaries have the potential to grow in their own faith while being a tremendous encouragement to those who are currently ministering on our mission fields. The Launch program provides a glimpse of what serving as a career missionary might look like. No matter what skills, gifts, or experiences you have, you can use them as a Launch Missionary for the glory of God.
Who is Launch For?
- Anyone willing to learn and serve.
- Anyone who wants a launch pad into full-time ministry.
- Anyone who wants to gain a global vision of what God is doing.
- Anyone over the age of 18 or traveling with a parent/guardian.

How Can I Serve?
Word of Life focuses on reaching youth with the Gospel and discipling them to reach their friends. Therefore, no matter what ministry you do, the ultimate goal is to share your faith and serve children, teens, and college students. Around the world, our missionaries seek to come alongside local churches to use almost any talent, skill, or spiritual gift to build relationships with young people for this purpose. Here are some examples of ministry needs and opportunities that a Launch Missionary might be part of:
- Teaching English and the Bible
- Summer Camps and Conferences
- Open Air Evangelism and Evangelistic Events
- Word of Life Bible Clubs and Youth Groups
- Discipling Youth and Young Adults
- Administration, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Music
Launch Missionaries will first complete an application. They can apply for a specific opportunity or a specific location. Once approved, the missionary together with the field leadership will work out the details of the Launch term. These details include dates, budgets, visas, and flights. Launch Missionaries have the option to either raise support or self-fund their missions opportunity.
