Missionary to Japan

Ministry Description

Here in Japan, less that 1% of the population claim to be Christian. They are one of the largest unreached people groups. This fact grabbed my heart and is one of the reasons I decided to go.

One of my roles is teaching English at SYME (School of Youth Ministry in English). SYME is a discipleship training center where college age students come to study English and Bible. The full program is almost a year of English immersion and daily study of God's Word! After graduation, many students further their Bible education, serve in ministry, or in their local church.

WOL Japan as a whole strives to build relationships in order to share Jesus with the community, as well as partner with local churches to help disciple youth.

UPDATE * * * This year looks a bit different. Taka is studying at Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida for a year to spiritually prepare for future ministry. We are also working to raise the additional ministry support we need as a new couple. We will live, work, study, and serve in the States until our return to Japan at the start of 2024.

Please continue to pray for Japan to see the power that is in the Gospel and for the very small Christian community to reach out to those who need the Lord.

About Lindsay

I trusted Christ with my life at the age of eight at my home church in Pennsylvania. After high school and three years of community college, I decided to attend Word of Life Bible Institute in upstate New York in 2013. I desired to further my knowledge of the Scriptures and deepen my relationship with the Lord. Even after just one year, my life had changed. Through the classes, fellowship with other believers, and ministry trips, I learned that life is best lived with Jesus at the center. Second year at the Bible Institute was the next step for me. That year was even more challenging but far more rewarding. During the Missions Conference, I learned of the great need for missions both in America and in foreign fields. God has placed a burden on my heart for the nation and people of Japan. I am blessed to serve alongside believers who also have the same heart for Japan and a love for God!

I met my husband, Taka, while serving in Japan. He also has a vision to see the Japanese people reached with the Gospel.

Life Verse

Philippians 4:6-7 "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
