Ministry Description

We are Michael and Abbey Kilbride, Local Church Missionaries to Central and Southwestern Virginia

It is our passion to spread the name of Jesus Christ across the world through the local church. We serve evangelical local churches in the development of gospel-advancing, disciple-multiplying youth ministries to fulfill two goals in our area:

- Every student, everywhere, hearing the gospel from a friend.

- Every student, everywhere, growing in their walk with Christ.

About Michael

GOD. OUR. SINS. PAYING. EVERYONE. LIFE.

God has been incredibly gracious and merciful. Although I (Michael) was not born into a household that knew or followed Jesus, the Lord worked through various circumstances and tragedies to bring me face-to-face with the Gospel message. At the age of 9, some of my friends invited me to their children’s ministry where I began to hear the Gospel on a weekly basis. Through that and the influence of my mother who had recently come to Christ herself, the Lord brought me to the realization that I could never be good enough to earn my way to heaven (Ephesians 2:8-9). At the age of 10, I finally gave up trying to earn my way through good works and called out to Christ to save me of my sins.

As the Lord worked in me, I was introduced to a Word of Life Local Church missionary when I was teenager. He began to invest his time in mentoring me and challenge me to own my faith through my words and actions. His used his influence, multiple overseas missions trips, and deep study in God’s Word at the Word of Life Bible Institute to burden my heart to see young people fall in love with Jesus.

Though I am far from perfect, the Lord is working in me each and every day to make me to man, husband, father, and servant that He wants me to be. I am excited to serve the Lord and local churches to advance the Gospel and make disciples. “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30)

Life Verse

Joshua 24:15 - "And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods of your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
